The movie ‘Dunkirk’ - A review
The tenth feature film of the mastermind Christopher Nolan, Dunkirk is undoubtedly one of his most ambious
projects.
Set in the year 1940 during the Second World War, the masterpiece starring Harry Styles, Tom Hardy, Fionn
Whitehead, Cillian Murphy, Jack Lowden and Kenneth Branagh in the lead, produced under the banners of Warner
Bros and Syncopy, tells us the story of survival- tagged as Victory which is won by Hope.
The enthralling plot of the film is supported by a great message of hope and survival. It has brilliantly portrayed the
fulity of war, the annihilaon caused by war and the power and strength of hope. The lives of war survivors, the
heavy sacrifices made in mes of war, the duty of soldiers, and the ranging aspects of human nature are
magnificently depicted and characterized.
The composite screenplay, extraordinary cinematography, compelling lead performances and the genius use of
shepherd tone makes Dunkirk a must-watch movie.
The intelligent non-linear narrave that tells us three stories of different me periods – of one hour, one day and
one week; using the cross-cuts, jump-cuts and intense soundtrack makes it a more nail-bing conundrum with a
dramac climax.
Audience will experience great, sharp visuals as the film of run-me 1hour
47minutes is shot on real locaons on 70mm IMAX.
It certainly promises to be an adrenaline filled ride.
My rang for this 2017 film is 4/5.
